The Spring ‘99 meeting will be on Saturday May 1,1999, again at
the Plainsman Restaurant on Highway #5, 2.5 km west of Clappisons Corners and Highway #6
in Dundas Ont. Coffee will be available at 9:00 AM. The meeting will START
AT 10:00 AM. Please be on time.

Herb Hilgenberg VE3LML, of Burlington will be speaking on his program of
broadcasting weather information to the "yachts at sea". His service is well
respected by the US Coast Guard and his service is familiar to many VE3’s who spend
the winter sailing in the south.

Membership Dues:
Check your address label. The figures "12/98" on the top right hand
corner indicate the expiration month/year of your Ch.73 membership. If your membership has
lapsed or is due shortly, please include the fee of $10.00 per year when returning the
forms. If the label does not show a date your membership has lapsed for more than a year
or you are a guest. For information on joining QCWA or if you have any questions regarding
your current membership status contact the Sec/Treasurer at the meeting.

Business
As authorized by the membership in October, President Earl forwarded a
letter to all Southern Ontario Members of Parliament regarding the changes Industry Canada
is considering to the procedures for certification and licensing. Any feed back received
will be reported at the May meeting.

The
Journal
An apology has been received from Headquarters for the lack of coverage of
Chapter 73 in recent issues of The Journal. Due to problems with a new publisher and a
change in closing dates several Chapter Reports have been missed. Hopefully this will be
corrected in the Spring ’99 issue. However, there still are some problems with the
closing date conflicting with our meeting dates.
